Stuttgart fills up with duck hunters every winter. When the ducks aren’t working, a guided speck hunt is a good way to put the rest of the day to use. Young Gun Outfitters guides specklebelly goose hunts on more than 25,000 acres within roughly 40 miles of Stuttgart, and our crews scout continuously throughout the day.

Hunts run one morning or one afternoon and typically last 2–5 hours. Your guide sends a meeting pin and time, and provides the dogs, blinds, decoys and transportation into the field. You bring your gun, shells, boots, camo and licenses, much of which you already packed for the duck trip.

Speck season runs alongside duck season.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission lists the 2026–27 white-fronted (specklebelly) goose season in four segments. The last three match the regular duck season (November 21–29, 2026; December 10–23, 2026; December 26, 2026–January 31, 2027), and the first opens before ducks:

  • October 31–November 8, 2026
  • November 21–29, 2026
  • December 10–23, 2026
  • December 26, 2026–January 31, 2027

Daily bag limit: 2 white-fronted geese. Possession limit: 6. Dates checked October 7, 2026. Check the current AGFC waterfowl dates and regulations for shooting hours, other species and any changes. An open season does not mean a date is available to book.

Questions from duck hunters.

Can I add a speck hunt to my Stuttgart duck trip?

Yes, when we have an opening. Young Gun Outfitters guides specklebelly goose hunts in one morning or one afternoon, so an afternoon speck hunt can fit around a morning in the duck blind. Call or text Myles at (870) 830-2525 with your date and headcount to check availability before you plan around it. An inquiry does not reserve a hunt.

Can I book a speck hunt at the last minute?

Short-notice inquiries are welcome, and last-minute hunts are available when we have openings. Calls and texts are welcome 24 hours a day. Availability depends on the date and your group size.

There are only one or two of us. Is that okay?

Yes. Smaller parties are welcome and may share a hunt with another group, with no eight-person minimum charge. Private party hunts are available for groups of 8 or more hunters.

How much does an afternoon speck hunt cost?

The rate is $300 per hunter for one morning or one afternoon hunt, the same for every group size. A typical hunt lasts 2–5 hours. Myles or Gray confirms your total and payment terms before booking.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your boots, camouflage, firearm, ammunition, and the licenses and documents required for your hunt. Your guide provides dogs, blinds, decoys and transportation into the field. Bird cleaning is not offered.

Do I need a different license for geese?

Licensing depends on your residency and the species you hunt. Check the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s current license requirements before your hunt; Young Gun cannot sell or verify licenses.

Do you guide duck hunts?

Young Gun Outfitters guides goose hunts, and specklebellies are our specialty. Keep your duck plans as they are, and call us for the speck hunt.
